Easter Weekend

What a great holiday weekend we had! We kicked off our Easter celebration on Saturday morning with the egg hunt at KinderCare. There were crafts, snacks, an egg hunt and a visit by the Easter bunny himself. Daniel went right for the doughnuts as soon as we got there. After sharing a strawberry and sprinkle covered doughnut with me, Daniel made an Easter bunny mask from a paper plate, a popsicle stick and some construction paper. Then it was time for the egg hunt. Though the weather was warm and sunny, the rain the night before made the grass very wet, so the egg hunt was restricted to only the cement on the playground. Every child was allowed to find 13 eggs, which they would turn into the Easter Bunny in exchange for a goodie bag. After finding his 13 eggs, we headed inside to wait for the arrival of the Easter bunny. As soon as he arrived, Daniel wanted to get into the line to see him - and get his goodie bag. Daniel was excited as we waited in line, but as soon as it was his turn, he didn't want to get close to the Easter Bunny. Ms. Lisa managed to get a few shots of Daniel trying to hide behind me, as I knelt next to the Easter Bunny. We gave the Easter Bunny Daniel's eggs and he picked up his goodie bag. I think that's all he really wanted, anyway! I tried to get Daniel to do some more of the crafts with me, but once he had his goodie bag, he was ready to go. No more playing around, Daniel is out of here!

Saturday afternoon we headed out to Papa Daniel's house to have lunch and attend another Easter egg hunt. After having dinner at Max & Erma's with Papa Daniels, we headed to Mimi Daniels' work. They had another nice egg hunt outside in the sunshine. Daniel gathered a bucketful of eggs full of nice treats and toys. After grabbing a cookie, Mary gave us a tour and introduced us to some of her very nice coworkers. Then it was time to head home for the evening.

The Easter Bunny visited our house overnight and left Daniel a nice Easter basket with a Lightning McQueen t-shirt, new Toy Story underpants, a Lightning McQueen baseball and glove, The Little Engine That Could book, and some yummy treats. The very busy Easter Bunny also left baskets overflowing with goodies at his Mimi and Papa Paul's house, Aunt Brandi and Uncle Mike's house, and Mimi and Papa Daniels' house. Daniel received even more treats from his Great Grandma and Grandpa Daniels, Aunt Theresa, and the egg hunt at Aunt Roxanne's house. We won't need to purchase any chocolate or candy until at least Halloween!

Though I didn't take any more photos over the weekend, we had a great day spending time with family and eating ourselves silly. We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend!
