Big Birthday Weekend

Looks who's 4!

This past weekend was a big one for Daniel. On Friday, we had carpet installed in the spare bedroom, the final step in transforming it into Daniel's new big boy room. So Friday evening we moved his bed and he slept in there for the first time. The transition was so easy, there was really no transition at all. We moved the rest of his things and many of his toys into the room on Saturday. He is enjoying having the extra floor space to play on and Randy and I are happy to have most of his toys out of the living room!

On Sunday, Daniel turned 4 years old. We had a Hot Wheels themed birthday party for him. He was so happy to be surrounded by family and a few close friends, especially Connor, Brendan and Riley. After a tasty lunch, we let Daniel open his gifts. Everyone was very generous and Daniel received many wonderful gifts. Once we could tear Daniel away from his new toys, we sang "Happy Birthday", Daniel blew out his candles, and we all enjoyed some birthday cupcakes and ice cream. Hopefully everyone had as much fun during the party as we did.

Thanks to the lunch-time party, we were able to clean up, have some dinner, and get cozy in our jammies before watching CARS 2 and heading to bed. I did shed a few tears over the fact that my baby boy is already 4 years old. Time has flown by. But we are so proud of the boy Daniel has become and so lucky to have such a wonderful son in our lives. I know that the next year will bring some big new adventures and wonderful memories for us.
