Christmas Eve was our family day this year. Since we know how hectic Christmas day is for us, we decided to treat Christmas Eve like it was Christmas day. Randy and I placed all the presents under the tree after Daniel went to bed on the 23rd so he could find them when he woke up the next morning. He still doesn't understand Santa Claus, be he definitely knows what presents are! When Daniel woke up the next morning, Randy ran downstairs ahead of us to turn on the Christmas tree lights. I though for sure Daniel would want to tear into the presents right away, but he didn't even notice them until after he had his morning glass of milk. I figure his milk must be like most people's coffee - he can't focus until he's had it. Then Daniel was all about the presents. He would open one, ask Randy to open the box and put it together so he could play with it, then a little while later he would go get another one and do the same thing. I think it took a few hours to get them all open. Santa was very good to Daniel. We spent the rest of the day in our jammies, relaxing and playing with Daniel's new toys. Randy grilled a turkey breast for dinner. It was absolutely delicious. After dinner, we all bundled up and went for a walk around the neighborhood to see all the Christmas lights. Then off to bed in anticipation for Christmas #2 and #3 the next day.
