All Aboard for Daniel's 2nd Birthday Party!

Sunday we threw Daniel a party for his birthday. When he woke up from his nap and I told him who was coming over to see him, he got so excited. He really wanted to play choo choo train with Connor and Brendan. It was very cute.
It was a train theme to go with the birthday gift we got him. Becka and I worked hard making train decorations for the event. Mary made a great train birthday cake. My mom, Brandi and Randy's mom pitched in with some delicious food. Everyone really helped out to make the party a success.

Last year Daniel wasn't all that interested in opening presents, but this year was different. He tore threw the gifts so quickly I couldn't keep up with him! There were kids, toys, clothes, wrapping paper and bags all over. We nearly lost Becka's daughter, Riley, in all the tissue paper! He got some great gifts - toys, books, and lots of clothes. He will be one very well dressed kid this winter! Once his dad and Papa Daniels got all the toys out and put together, all the kids (and adults) dove in to play with them. It was lots of fun for all.

Then we lit candles on the cake and sang "Happy Birthday" to Daniel. He was a bit unsure of all the attention, leaning on his aunt Brandi for support. He did crack a smile at the end. He wasn't interested in blowing out the candles this time, but Connor and Brendan stepped up to help out with that.

We spent the last few hours of the party eating, drinking and playing, with a little Lion's football game watching thrown in. Everyone seemed to enjoy the chicken soup, chili, taco salad and corn muffins for dinner. And of course, cake and ice cream for dessert!
We had so much fun celebrating with everyone and we were all exhausted by the end of the night. We are so lucky to have such great family and friends. Thanks to everyone!
